you spend a lot of time thinking about the algorithm, don’t you?

Posting time, hashtags, trending audio, following people so they follow back, (*throws up a little*)…engagement pods.

I bet that these thoughts alone stop you from showing up online sometimes.

Eventually you start making content for the algorithm instead of for the people you actually want to talk to. The content is technically correct. It follows all the rules. It’s just kind of... flat. It performs okay and converts nothing.

The algorithm’s job is to show people content they’ll engage with.

Your job is to make content worth engaging with.

When you mix them up you end up in a cycle of chasing metrics while the people who would buy from you, work with you, refer you, never feels like you’re talking to them.

Post for the person who needs what you have. Be specific about who that is and what they deal with. Say something real. Have an opinion. Let the people it’s not for scroll past.

The algorithm is actually pretty good at distributing content that connects. Give it something worth distributing.
